GERMAN industrial giant Siemens has tied up with SGS, a testing, inspection and certification company, to provide sustainability consulting to South-east Asia companies.
Siemens will bring its technology expertise in decarbonisation, while SGS provides carbon accounting competency, advisory and reporting services.
Together, both parties will help companies advise, audit and measure their environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts. This includes providing recommendations to help businesses become more sustainable, safe and efficient, they said in a joint statement on Thursday (Aug 11).
They will also review a customer’s sustainability goals, conduct joint workshops and provide value-added and comprehensive solutions.
The move builds on SGS’ existing ESG services and experience in using protocols and standards like the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and ISO 14064. Siemens, which has a large environmental portfolio, has also been providing sustainability consulting to many enterprise customers in Singapore, both parties noted.
