SGX holds first virtual AGM in under an hour

Shareholder queries, mostly on SGX's competitive strengths, growth prospects and business outlook, were pre-submitted and responses made available online

THE Singapore Exchange (SGX) hosted in its first virtual annual general meeting (AGM) in 21 years on Thursday, shaving off half the time typically required to under an hour as shareholders' questions had been pre-submitted and responses made available online.

All items of business set out in the Notice of AGM were put to, and duly passed. These included the re-appointment of directors who are due to retire by rotation and the appointment of Mark Makepeace, founder and non-executive chairman of FTSE Russell, a global index provider.
