SGX RegCo to extend suspension of entry into watch-list till June 2023
THE Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) will continue to suspend entry into the Financial Watch-List until June 2023.
This was done in consultation with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. SGX Regco has suspended entry into the watch-list since June 2020 to enable SGX-listed companies to focus on the business and economic challenges of dealing with the impact of Covid-19 on business operations.
The half-yearly review for entry into the watch-list typically happens on the first market days of June and December, when the regulator reviews companies for compliance. SGX-listed companies will be placed on the watch-list if they record pre-tax losses for three most recent completed consecutive financial years and an average daily market capitalisation of less than S$40 million over the last 6 months.
Companies that meet the exit criteria will still be able to exit the watch-list.
“As multiple sectors of the economy are only beginning to stabilise from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and many restrictions were relaxed just recently in 2022, we intend to allow all issuers a full financial year to operate under normal business conditions and recover from the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said SGX RegCo.
