SGX seeks public feedback on electricity futures
THE Singapore Exchange (SGX) is proposing the introduction of electricity futures - the first to be introduced in Asia - and is seeking the public's feedback.
The proposed SGX Uniform Singapore Energy Price (USEP) Quarterly Base Load Electricity Futures will be a standard, cash-settled futures contract listed as contract quarters.
The local bourse yesterday said the contracts provide a means for market participants in the Singapore electricity market to manage their risk exposures.
