Short tempers, long queues aplenty as hunt for CNY notes heats up

IT'S been "madhouse" in the local banks for the past week and this is likely to persist until Chinese New Year's Eve as customers rush for new notes.
One OCBC Bank customer managed to clinch S$500 worth of new notes at the Hougang Mall branch last Wednesday but he was restricted to only one "Fortune" pack. He decided to try his luck at the United Overseas Bank (UOB) branch but went away empty handed.
