SIA appoints new independent director

SINGAPORE Exchange-listed Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced on Wednesday the appointment of Lee Kim Shin to its board as an independent non-executive director, with effect from Sept 1, 2016.
Mr Lee is a member of the governing board of Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore, and a member of the Governing Council of the Singapore Institute of Directors. Previous directorships had been with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, Community Cancer Fund, SIA Engineering Company, Singex Holdings and Wildlife Reserves Singapore, among others.
He will join the Board Nominating Committee and Board Safety & Risk Committee.
Directors Christina Ong and Lucien Wong Yuen Kuai will retire from the company with effect from Sept 1, 2016. Both of them joined the board in 2007.
