SIA Engineering adds MOM perm sec Ng Chee Khern to board

SIA Engineering has appointed Ng Chee Khern, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Manpower, as an independent non-executive director, with effect from Feb 1.
Along with the appointment, the 59-year-old has been added to the board’s audit committee and technology advisory committee, said the maintenance, repair and overhaul services provider in a bourse filing on Tuesday (Jan 14).
Industrial conglomerate Hong Leong Asia in December 2024 appointed him as a board member.
He is also a director of the Human Capital Leadership Institute.
Before becoming permanent secretary at the Ministry of Manpower, Ng was the permanent secretary of the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group in the Prime Ministers’ Office between May 2017 and March 2022.
He was permanent secretary for defence development at the Ministry of Defence from May 2014 to June 2017.

Shares of SIA Engineering closed Tuesday flat at S$2.33, before the announcement.
