IN ANOTHER step towards strengthening their alliance, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin Australia (VA) are rolling out a new initiative that will allow KrisFlyer and Velocity Frequent Flyer members to convert miles and points between both programmes from November.
Separately, VA on Wednesday unveiled plans for a redesigned business class and premium economy seats for its wide-body planes as the carrier strives to grow its share of the corporate segment.
While SIA and VA's existing partnership already offers passengers some frequent flyer benefits, the new loyalty programme initiative will mean greater access to upgrades and reward seats across both networks. In addition, KrisFlyer members - by converting their miles - will be able to redeem non-flight rewards from Velocity including clothes and electronics.
