SINGAPORE investors have limited understanding of the risks of index investing and the role of index funds in portfolios, according to the latest global survey conducted by Natixis Global Asset Management.
The survey, which studied 7,100 investors in 22 countries, including 400 from Singapore, found that more than half of Singapore investors think using index funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will help them minimise investment losses while more than two-thirds believe index funds provide access to the best investment opportunities in the market. About one in two also believe that index funds are a cheaper way to invest.
