Singapore M&A up 10.4% in Q2

AS the second quarter of 2017 draws to a close, the value of announced mergers & acquisitions (M&A) involving Singaporean companies has has increased 10.4 per cent from Q1, despite a 16.3 per cent drop in the number of announced deals, according to data from Thomson Reuters.
This brings overall Singapore M&A activity for the first half of 2017 to US$22.4 billion, down 20.3 per cent from H1 of 2016, as the number of deals declined 23.4 per cent, marking the slowest first-half period - in value terms - for Singapore deal-making activity since 2013.
