Singapore’s market cap down 0.5% in April amid slowing global growth

    THE total market capitalisation of Singapore stocks fell 0.5 per cent or S$4.4 billion in April to S$814.8 billion, from S$819.1 billion as at end-March, data compiled by The Business Times showed.

    Of the 629 companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX), gainers outnumbered losers 249 to 205.

    For the Straits Times Index (STI), total market capitalisation of its component counters was up S$500 million or 0.1 per cent at S$539.6 billion.
