SINGTEL has partnered GrabTaxi to offer South-east Asian consumers a mobile wallet option to pay for their rides - the latest in a slew of moves by telcos to penetrate the banking space.
Through the tie-up, mobile customers of Singtel's regional associates AIS (Thailand), Globe (the Philippines) and Telkomsel (Indonesia) will be able to book vehicles through GrabTaxi's app and pay for their rides using their Singtel mWallets, both companies said on Wednesday.
