Singtel appoints new head of global cybersecurity unit

TELCO firm Singtel has created a new "global cybersecurity" CEO role, with its cybersecurity business expected to hit around S$550 million in revenue this financial year.

Singtel said on Wednesday that it has appointed Arthur Wong to head up the business unit. Mr Wong joined Singtel this week from DXC Technology, an IT services company formed from the merger of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services and Computer Sciences Corporation. There, he was the general manager of its cyber security business.

In 2015, Singtel acquired US-based security services firm Trustwave as part of its expansion into the business. The group all in employs more than 2,000 cybersecurity professionals in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas.
