Singtel, Ericsson to set up centre to develop, deploy 5G
The centre aims to spearhead the development of Singapore's 5G mobile network infrastructure

SINGAPORE Telecommunications (Singtel) has tied up with communication solutions and services provider Ericsson to set up a centre of excellence (CoE) to facilitate the development of fifth generation mobile telephony (5G) technology and its deployment in Singapore with an initial investment of S$2 million.
The new standard in connectivity, 5G, is expected to roll out globally from 2020 and will deliver massive connectivity, ultra-low latency, gigabit speeds, and enable advanced applications such as those used in smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality and autonomous vehicles.
