Singtel job cuts were at overseas unit: CEO

SINGTEL chief executive Chua Sock Koong rebuffed talk of layoffs at the mainboard-listed telco, after queries - including from The Business Times - at its annual general meeting about a recent drop in headcount.
"I can say definitively that there is no structured retrenchment programme in Singtel," she told shareholders at the meeting on Tuesday morning.
