Singtel tops in 4G coverage, peak speeds: IDA surveys
SINGAPORE Telecommunications (Singtel) has ranked first in 4G coverage and peak speeds in Singapore, according to the findings of two surveys by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).
Results from an IDA crowdsourcing survey from July to December 2015 showed Singtel's 4G peak speeds reached 130.8 Mbps, ahead of its key competitors' - StarHub's 125.4 Mbps and M1's 75.7 Mbps.
Singtel also emerged at the top of the pack with a 3G peak speed of 31.2 Mbps against StarHub's 27.8 Mpbs and M1's 14.5 Mbps.
A second IDA performance survey on nationwide outdoor service coverage for Q4 2015 put Singtel at the front with a 99.87 per cent coverage, with StarHub coming in second at 99.25 per cent and M1 third at 99.08 per cent.
Singtel said it is ready to raise the bar for 4G indoor coverage with its nationwide deployment of a 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network on 900MHz spectrum band by end-March 2016.
