SMRT reshuffles board, names new chairman

TRAIN operator SMRT Corporation will be changing its board and the board of its wholly owned unit SMRT Trains as part of "progressive renewal", it said in a press release on Wednesday morning.

The chairman of both boards, Koh Yong Guan, will step down on July 17 when he completes his current term of office, the group said in its statement, adding that he has chaired both boards since July 2009. Seah Moon Ming, deputy chairman of SMRT Corp and of SMRT Trains, will take over as chairman at both boards with effect from July 17.
