SMRT's Q2 profit rises 1.9% to S$25.74m

SMRT Corp reported a 1.9 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to S$25.74 million for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2015, as the bottom line was bolstered partly by higher share of profits from associates and joint ventures.
Revenue increased 4.7 per cent to S$328.76 million as its rail, bus and non-fare business segments all reported higher revenues. However, total expenses were 7.1 per cent higher at S$313.59 million, resulting in a 2.4 per cent fall in operating profit to S$32.52 million.
