Some companies opting for building site dorms to limit workers' Covid exposure
SOME construction companies have rehoused their migrant workers in temporary quarters in recent months, in view of rising Covid-19 cases among workers residing at dormitories.
Construction temporary quarters (CTQs), or temporary dormitories built on construction sites, are gaining appeal as a way to mitigate infection risks, although they come with some inconvenience too.
The spread of Covid-19 in dormitories has grown in recent weeks, with 601 cases reported on Sunday (Oct 17). Clusters have also been reported in recent weeks at dormitories such as Woodlands Dormitory and Blue Stars Dormitory.
