Spackman's The Outlaws sells 11b won through video on demand

VIDEO on demand (VOD) sales for Spackman Entertainment Group's 51 per cent owned-movie The Outlaws exceeded 11 billion Korean won (S$13.4 million) after two months, the Korean film production company announced on Friday.

That set a record for highest VOD sales in Korea, breaking the previous record that Disney's Frozen achieved in 10 months, the company said.

The Outlaws, one of the top movies in Korean box offices in 2017, is expected to "contrbute positively" to Spackman's financial performance for the year ending December 2018, Spackman interim chief executive Richard Lee said in a statement.

Spackman's 51 per cent-owned subsidiary Novus Mediacorp Co holds the distribution rights for The Outlaws for the ancillary market in Korea.
