S'pore Children's Society walkathon raises S$800K

SINGAPORE Children's Society raised S$800,000 for its beneficiaries at its annual fund-raising walkathon, Walk for Our Children 2015, which took place at Sentosa's Palawan Beach on Sunday.
The three-kilometre walkathon and carnival attracted close to 6,000 participants while over 700 volunteers signed up for the event, exceeding the society's initial target of 500.
This year's Walk for Our Children is the largest to date, according to society CEO Alfred Tan. Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang was the guest-of-honour.
