S'pore shares slip further on oil, gas woes

SINGAPORE shares fell for the fourth straight session on a relatively quiet Wednesday as ongoing pressure in the oil and gas sector continued to weigh on sentiment.
The Straits Times Index (STI) declined by 0.3 per cent or 7.8 points to close at 2,820.59.
A total of 876.8 million shares changed hands, which was about 55 per cent of the daily average volume between January and July. Those shares were worth S$925.2 million, or about 83 per cent of the daily average in the first seven months of the year.
