SINGAPORE Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace) has landed new contracts worth S$298 million in the first quarter of the year, for projects such as aircraft maintenance and pilot training.

ST Aerospace is the aerospace arm of ST Engineering.

Contracts include a five-year maintenance-by-the-hour (MBH) agreement signed with an existing Asia-based airline customer. ST Aerospace will provide MBH support services for nine Boeing 737NG planes, covering component repairs, consignment of spares, as well as access to its inventory pool of rotables worldwide.

In addition, a contract was sealed with an international airline for heavy maintenance of six Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft.

For pilot training, its flight training academy in Singapore has signed a five-year agreement with a Middle Eastern customer for a multi-crew pilot licence programme. The first batch of 11 cadets will start training in June.

In the first quarter, it redelivered a total of 250 aircraft for airframe maintenance and modification work. In addition to airframe redeliveries, a total of 11,332 components, 49 landing gears and 48 engines were processed, while 1,631 engine washes were conducted for commercial and military customers.
