ST Engineering introduces new executive role for smart city, digital businesses

ST ENGINEERING will appoint Tan Lee Chew, its president of commercial business and current executive committee member, to take on newly created positions as group chief commercial officer of market development and president of smart city and digital solutions from Jul 1.
“In this capacity, she will help build market presence, expand account coverage and strengthen partnerships, enabling customers to create digital experiences and transform operational efficiencies through the use of cloud, artificial intelligence, data analytics, the Internet of Things and digital connectivity,” the company said in a bourse filing on Friday (Jun 30).
Tan will also continue to oversee the group’s urban solutions and satellite communications business, which she has been doing since she joined the group in September 2021.
In addition, president of the group’s commercial aerospace business Jeffrey Lam will be appointed as a member of the executive committee.
The company noted that the commercial aerospace business had demonstrated resilience during the pandemic and has been a key growth driver for the group.
The other members of the executive committee include chief executive Vincent Chong, chief financial officer Cedric Foo, and group chief operating officer of technology and innovation as well as president for defence and public security Ravinder Singh.
ST Engineering shares rose 1.1 per cent or S$0.04 to close at S$3.68 on Friday, before the announcement was made.
