THE aerospace arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering has secured new contracts worth S$443 million in the first quarter of 2016, the integrated engineering group announced on Monday.

These are for projects such as heavy airframe maintenance and cabin interior modifications for commercial airlines and VIP customers.

Other projects for the first three months of the year involve component repair and overhaul.

ST Engineering said in a statement that it had secured several landing gear contracts from customers in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as a long-term contract to support a European customer's Q400 components.

The value of the contracts includes German company Elbe Flugzeugwerke's new orders for the first time, after the completion of the additional equity interest in the Dresden-based company in February.
