StarHub, Japan's KVH team up to offer DCNet in Singapore

TOKYO-BASED information delivery platform KVH Co Ltd has teamed up with Singapore telco StarHub to offer KVH DCNet in Singapore.
Based on StarHub's metropolitan fibre network, DCNet is now available in 10 data centres in Singapore, with plans to expand to additional data centres in this market in the coming months.
These data centres contain industry-leading content distributors, major application and cloud providers, and carrier hubs.
KVH on Tuesday said customers in these facilities can leverage DCNet's pre-wired network to connect to an ecosystem of third-party data centres in Asia through a simple cross-connect, which offers them a single, virtual, and borderless data centre experience.
Announced in June this year, DCNet is a pre-wired elastic data centre to data centre Ethernet interconnection solution.
It will link over 100 leading data centres across Asia to provide customers with a greater choice as to where they collocate and with whom they connect.

DCNet is currently available in bandwidths from 100Mbps to 10Gbps, with a 100Gbps service planned for 2015.
The burstable DCNet service has standard per megabit bandwidth rates and allows customers to "pay-as-they-grow", providing a very low entry point for connectivity, reduced total cost of ownership (TCO), and the ability to opt for new data centres as and when their business grows.
