StarHub Q2 profit falls 21%; revenue dips 1.1%

Fall in revenue from mobile, broadband and Pay TV service; telco paying dividend per share of four Singapore cents, down one cent from a year ago

STARHUB, Singapore's second biggest telco, posted a 21 per cent decrease in second-quarter net profit to S$85.7 million from S$108.6 million, one year ago. This came on the back of a 1.1 per cent dip in revenue for the quarter to S$579.1 million from S$585.7 million.

For Q2, "other income" fell by S$7.5 million to S$0.4 million due to lower NBN (National Broadband Network) grants. The year-ago quarter also had a non-operating income of S$9.5 million due to a fair-value gain.
