LOCAL telco StarHub will offer a new Unified Communication (UC) service to Singapore-based small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in partnership with Avaya. The deal, which will be announced on Thursday, will involve the launch of a new business communications service called Smart UC.

Speaking to The Business Times, Sebastian Tan, StarHub's VP for Enterprise Solutions, Services and Delivery, said the SmartUC solution will enable the telco's enterprise customers to enhance their productivity and achieve efficiency gains by providing a common communication platform for their various business needs. These could range from voice calls and Web access to conferencing, instant messaging, and voice and video telephony over the Internet, including call centre capabilities.
