Stay calm and take stock of Manulife US Reit
DEBATES have been swirling around what a Donald Trump presidency means for the global economy, trade and markets. Many are also mulling over the impact on commercial real estate given the real estate mogul's vested interest in the sector.
But truth be told, no one knows for sure. Some have argued that uncertainties over the US economy and Mr Trump's harsh rhetoric on foreign trade may curb the flow of investments into US real estate; yet, his plan to launch massive infrastructure building across the country is expected to fuel higher inflation and a stronger greenback - all of which augurs well for rental growth and real estate prices.
Until the dust settles, the recovery in the US office market is unlikely to be derailed in the short to medium term.
