STI enjoys late push in lacklustre week
A LATE push on the Straits Times Index, probably month-end window-dressing, livened up trading yesterday but did little to impress dealers struggling with low volume and lack of interest for many months now.
"They used Jardine stocks and DBS to send the STI above 3,100," said a dealer. "But it changes nothing - business is as bad as ever."
For most of the day, the STI slipped in and out of negative territory before a late rally saw it close with a gain of 14.04 points at 3,110.78.
