NetResearch Asia, which had forecast profit-taking on Tuesday morning, said in a note: "Unless entry prices were at low levels with adequate buffer, investors appear more comfortable under current conditions to take profit and wait for opportunities to reinvest."
In the broader market of local stocks, losers outnumbered gainers 251-to-177, with trading volume standing at about 1.9 billion shares, and total turnover ringing up to about S$1 billion for the day.
