STI slips again as Fed risk hampers trading
Banks remain a key drag on the market; trading stays thin with losers outnumbering gainers 7:4
SINGAPORE shares fell for the second straight session on Tuesday as broad macroeconomic uncertainties continued to weigh on market activity.
The Straits Times Index slipped 0.8 per cent, or 25.04 points, to close at 3,298.09.
Trading remained thin, with only 1.1 billion shares worth S$885 million changing hands. The day's volume was just 65 per cent of the January-to-May daily average; turnover was 75 per cent of the daily average for the first five months of the year.
