SINGAPORE shares closed lower on Tuesday, snapping a five-day winning streak with the Straits Times Index (STI) losing 28.19 points or 1.05 per cent to finish at 2,661.42.
Most other regional bourses also took a breather from the recent strong rally, although there was no stopping China, with the Shanghai Composite extending gains by another 0.4 per cent on Tuesday.
Trading sentiments have improved lately as more countries reopened their economies and eased lockdown restrictions. Caution prevailed, however, as a lockdown returned in Melbourne, Australia.
