AN exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks the local benchmark index was the best performer out of the five most actively traded ETFs on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in January, despite a year-on-year slide in turnover year-to-date, according to data the bourse released on Friday.
The SPDR Straits Times Index (STI) ETF gained 5.8 per cent over the course of January this year and had a total return of 5.5 per cent from the start of the year through to Feb 2, the SGX said in a My Gateway report.
