Stocks to watch: DBS, MIT, Digital Core Reit, F&N, Wing Tai, BRC Asia, NoonTalk

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Wednesday (Feb 7):
DBS : The lender reported net profit of S$2.27 billion for the fourth quarter ended December, 3 per cent lower than the S$2.34 billion recorded in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items costs, net profit would have been S$2.39 billion – in line with analyst estimates and 2 per cent higher than the previous Q4. DBS declared a dividend of S$0.54 per share for the period, bringing the ordinary dividend for the full year to S$1.92 per share. It also proposed a bonus issue on the basis of one bonus share for every existing 10 ordinary shares held. Shares of DBS closed down 0.6 per cent, or S$0.20, at S$31.65 on Tuesday.
Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT): The real estate investment trust (Reit) will sell a cluster of two factories located at Tanglin Halt for S$50.6 million to an unrelated third party, its manager said on Wednesday. It expects to complete the transaction in the first half of 2024. MIT’s units ended flat at S$2.42 on Tuesday. Digital Core Reit : The Reit manager has proposed private placement of new units at an issue price of between US$0.60 and US$0.625 apiece to raise gross proceeds of no less than US$100 million. About 75 per cent of the proceeds raised will be used to fund future acquisitions. The manager also requested a trading halt before market open on Wednesday. Units of Digital Core Reit closed flat at US$0.665 on Tuesday.
