Stocks to watch: IHH Healthcare, NeraTel
THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Thursday (Sep 5):
IHH Healthcare : The integrated healthcare provider on Wednesday announced that its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Pantai, was proposing to fully acquire Island Hospital in Penang, Malaysia, for RM3.9 billion (S$1.2 billion) in cash. The transaction will be funded through internally generated funds of IHH and its subsidiaries, as well as external borrowings. Shares of IHH closed 0.5 per cent or S$0.01 lower at S$1.91, before the announcement.
Nera Telecommunications (NeraTel): The communications and network solutions provider has received an offer from Taiwan-listed Ennoconn Corporation for all the shares in the company it does not own at S$0.075 apiece. This comes after Ennoconn agreed to acquire nearly 53.4 per cent of the total amount of shares in NeraTel. Shares of NeraTel closed flat at S$0.08 on Wednesday, before the announcement.
