THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (May 16):
Singapore Airlines (SIA): The flag carrier and its budget arm Scoot flew close to 2.7 million passengers in April 2023, an 85.5 per cent increase from the same month the year before – when borders in Singapore were first fully reopened since the Covid-19 pandemic hit. But the pace of recovery appears to have slowed, with base effects wearing off. The company will be announcing on Tuesday, after trading hours, its full financial results for the year ended Mar 31. The carrier’s shares closed flat at S$5.90 on Monday.
CapitaLand Ascendas Reit (Clar): Its manager on Tuesday announced plans for Clar to acquire a research and development facility for S$218.2 million. It will be partially funded through a proposed private placement to raise at least S$450 million, at an issue price range between S$2.713 and S$2.769 per new unit. Clar closed on Monday up 0.7 per cent or S$0.02 at S$2.88.
