    THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Jul 18):

    Singapore Airlines (SIA) : The national carrier announced its June operating results on Monday. The group carried 2.9 million passengers on a group level last month, up 50.4 per cent from a year ago. However, cargo operations registered a load factor of 51.6 per cent, a decrease of 13 percentage points due to weaker demand. SIA shares closed up 0.14 per cent, or S$0.01, to S$7.42 before the announcement.

    Thomson Medical Group : The healthcare company has issued S$30 million worth of notes that will mature in 2028 at 5.5 per cent interest. The new notes will be combined with some existing S$120 million notes, maturing in 2028, into a singular series. The funds raised are intended for general corporate uses, such as refinancing of borrowings, financing possible acquisitions, and strategic expansions. Shares of Thomson Medical Group closed flat at S$0.061 before the news.
