THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Friday (Sep 29):
Thai Beverage (ThaiBev): The beverage manufacturer announced on Thursday that it incorporated a new wholly-owned subsidiary, SpiritsCo, in Hong Kong. This comes after the group was reported to be exploring options for its spirits business, including an initial public offering in Singapore. Shares of ThaiBev closed 0.9 per cent or S$0.005 lower at S$0.58 on Thursday, before the announcement.
City Developments Limited (CDL): The property developer on Thursday announced it purchased 35 billion yen (S$321.9 million) worth of interest in a portfolio of 25 residential assets in Tokyo, marking its foray into the capital’s rental housing sector. This is also the group’s largest transaction in the private rented sector to date. CDL shares closed down S$0.02 or 0.3 per cent at S$6.55, after the news.
