Stocks to watch: UOB, Keppel Corp, Lian Beng

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Friday (Jan 13):
UOB : The bank has priced S$850 million in 5.25 per cent perpetual capital securities. The perps will be issued under UOB’s US$30 billion global medium term note programme, and are intended to qualify as additional Tier 1 capital. Shares for UOB dropped 0.6 per cent or S$1.20 to close at S$29.92 on Thursday, before the announcement was made on Friday.
Keppel Corporation : Six individuals who were previously senior management staff of Keppel Corporation’s Offshore & Marine unit have been issued stern warnings for bribery-related offences, it was announced on Thursday. Keppel Corp shares closed down 1.2 per cent or S$0.09 at S$7.17, following the announcement.
