Straco Q1 earnings soar on Flyer turnaround

A TURNAROUND in fortunes for the formerly loss-making Singapore Flyer observation wheel has lifted earnings for its new owner as well - first-quarter earnings for tourist attraction operator Straco soared on Friday after it brought the previously loss-making Flyer into its fold and back into the black.
The company added that the outlook for China's domestic tourism market and Singapore's tourism market both look good, and the SG50 campaign here could boost earnings this year.
