SUNTEC Singapore will be extending its temporary suspension of operations up to Aug 2, the manager of Suntec Reit, ARA Trust Management, announced in a bourse filing on Thursday.
This is in view that restrictions on large gatherings are likely to remain in force after Singapore's circuit-breaker measures, for now to last until June 1, are lifted, ARA Trust said in the filing.
"The prevailing regulations do not permit any events up to end May, and most events until August have also been postponed to later dates," said Arun Madhok, chief executive of Suntec Singapore.
"In these uncertain times, with a lack of clarity on when the situation would improve, it is vital that we implement proactive measures to control costs, protect jobs and prepare for the resumption of business in the near future," he added.
Suntec will continue to serve customers; its sales hotline will remain open for enquiries during regular office hours.
Units of Suntec Reit closed at S$1.40 on Thursday, up by S$0.05.
