[SINGAPORE] Singtel on Monday (Mar 23) was once again hit with user reports of disruption after three consecutive days of issues last week.

By 3.40 pm, more than 9,700 reports of issues with the company’s Internet services had been recorded on Downdetector, with reports starting at around 3.20 pm. About half the reports were for broadband Internet issues; under a third were linked to issues with mobile Internet.

In a Facebook post, Singtel noted that some users were impacted by “some connectivity issues”. “Our engineers are investigating and we’ll provide updates shortly,” it added.

The telco updated its post at 5.23 pm, saying that the disruption was due to an “international traffic optimisation issue”, and that this had been “resolved within 15 minutes”.

“Our local network remains stable and is operating as expected.”

Singtel added that its network had been tested “vigorously” over the past three days to “ensure stability”.

Singtel on Friday had warned that some customers could experience intermittent issues this week as it conducted maintenance after three consecutive days of issues, with an eight-hour disruption on Mar 16.

Shares of Singtel ended Monday 5.4 per cent or S$0.28 lower at S$4.93.
