Telenor's entry gives mobile boost to SPH-linked 701Search
Norwegian telco has over 150m mobile customers globally
ONLINE marketplace media firm 701Search is set to make further inroads in the mobile space now that Norway's Telenor ASA has come onboard as a new shareholder.
"In some of our key countries, almost 50 per cent of our users are accessing the classifieds through mobile. So mobile is getting more and more important in this game," said Alan Chan, CEO of Singapore Press Holdings, whose wholly owned subsidiary SPH Interactive International (SPHI) owns a third of 701Search.
"We really welcome Telenor's participation because as a mobile operator, they can bring us perspective of the mobile world," Mr Chan added. He was speaking at a media briefing yesterday.
