TIKTOK on Monday (May 15) announced the launch of its new flagship tech immersion programme, which seeks to train 5,000 students over the next five years.
The programme is a free three-week intensive technical bootcamp for tertiary-level students.
Participants will get a chance to deepen their understanding in coding languages, tech architecture, server management, quality assurance and site reliability.
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information Tan Kiat How said he welcomed the initiative by TikTok and sees it as an “excellent opportunity for local tertiary students to receive practical experience and learn industry-relevant skills”.
“Such initiatives will complement efforts by Digital Industry Singapore, which leads tech industry development in Singapore, to create training opportunities for our young talent,” he added.
The first run of the programme, which happens from May 15 to May 31, will train over 1,300 students.
Students must complete an individual assignment during the three-week-long bootcamp in order to receive a certificate of completion.
