JUST this week, data from the Economic Development Board showed Singapore's semiconductor production rising by 10.2 per cent year on year in the first nine months of 2020.
Semiconductor output outpaced both the electronics cluster's 7 per cent growth and the manufacturing sector's overall 5.7 per cent increase.
With their "nose to tail" role in the semiconductor value chain, Singapore and other regional ecosystem players stifled by last year's industry slump are now poised to reap the benefits of a chips-led cyclical upswing in the global electronics sector.
