25-50% rise in car COE supply expected for 2016
Singapore
THE certificate of entitlement (COE) boom for cars is expected to continue this year, although the percentage increase is unlikely to be as strong as last year's, some motor distributors say. Nevertheless, they see COE premiums tumbling by as much as S$10,000 to S$15,000 from the start of 2016.
Dealers are forecasting a total increase of 25 to 50 per cent in 2016 for COE Categories A, B and E - the small car, big car and open segments respectively (the Cat E premium currently tracks that of Cat B as the former is mainly used for registering the latter).
