AirAsia updates nationality breakdown of those on board missing Flight QZ8501

AIRASIA Indonesia issued a correction on the nationality breakdown of passengers and cabin crew on board its missing Flight QZ8501 on Sunday evening.

There were 155 passengers on board, with 138 adults, 16 children and one infant. Also on board were two pilots and five cabin crew.

Of the passengers, one is from Singapore, one from Malaysia, one from the United Kingdom, 3 from South Korea, and 149 are Indonesians.

Of the crew, one is from France and the other 6 are Indonesians.

In an earlier update by the Changi Airport Group (CAG), 47 relatives and friends of 57 passengers on board the flight had registered at the Changi Airport's Relatives Holding Area (RHA) at Terminal 2.

"Help and support are being provided to them at the RHA by 36 CAG care officers and four counsellors from the Ministry of Social and Family Development. Other staff from CAG, AirAsia and airport partners, as well as officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore, have also been present to assist," said the statement.

CAG added that arrangements for local accommodation or for travel to Indonesia have been made for the next-of-kin.
