[NEW YORK] Airbus delivered 73 aircraft in September as it works to meet ambitious full-year guidance amid supply chain struggles.

The European planemaker delivered 507 planes in the first nine months of the year, meaning it needs to hand over another 300 to meet its guidance of 820 aircraft.

Airbus was forced to park ready-built aircraft, or so-called gliders, due to a shortage of engines. The number of gliders was about 60 at midyear, but that’s been reduced, an Airbus spokesperson said without specifying the number.

Chief executive officer Guillaume Faury said last month that deliveries will pick up speed toward the end of the year.
