Airbus, SIA launch new flight training centre to cater to rising pilot demand

AIRBUS and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have officially launched a new US$100 million flight training centre which aims to capitalise on the rising demand for training services in the region.
Located at Seletar Aerospace Park, the 9,250 square metre Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) - which is the biggest one in Airbus' network - was opened on Monday. It is 55 per cent owned by Airbus while SIA owns the remaining 45 per cent. Seventeen carriers from the Asia-Pacific have signed up so far, including SIA and its budget unit Tigerair, as well as other airlines such as Qatar Airways and Cebu Pacific.
